NEW SPRINKLER SYSTEM
INSTALLATION
A sprinkler system that's designed right waters evenly, wastes less and needs fewer repairs for years. We plan zones around your lawn, beds and soil, install the pipe, valves, heads, drip, backflow and controller, and hand you a fully programmed system when we're done.
WHAT GOES INTO A NEW SYSTEM
A new irrigation system is more than pipe and heads in the ground. It starts with a design: how much water pressure and flow you have, how the property is shaped, where the sun and shade fall, what's planted where and what kind of soil you're working with. Those details decide how many zones you need, which heads go where and how the system should be scheduled.
A well-designed system separates areas with different needs. Sunny lawn, shady lawn, shrub beds and trees each get their own zones, spray and rotor heads are kept apart, and beds use drip where it makes sense. Heads are spaced for head-to-head coverage so every part of the lawn gets water.
Installation matters just as much. Pipe buried at the proper depth, quality valves in accessible boxes, swing joints under heads, a correctly installed backflow preventer and clean, labeled wiring all make the system more reliable and easier to service later.
Before any work begins, we'll go over the design with you, including where zones, valves and the controller will go and why. It's much easier to change a line on paper than after the trench is dug.
A New System Makes Sense When
- Your home doesn't have irrigation yet
- You're installing new sod or a new landscape
- An old system needs constant repairs
- Zones are laid out so poorly they can't water evenly
- Pipe keeps breaking because it's buried too shallow
- You're renovating the yard, pool or hardscape
- You want drip for beds and spray for lawn
- Parts for your old system are hard to find
HOW WE INSTALL A NEW SYSTEM
From the first walk-through to the final programming, here's how an installation comes together.
Consultation & Site Review
We walk the property with you, measure water pressure and flow, look at soil, slopes, sun and shade, and talk through how you use the yard.
Design the Zones
We lay out zones by plant type and exposure, choose heads and drip for each area, and plan pipe routes, valve locations and the controller position.
Permits & Locates
Many Texas cities require an irrigation permit and inspection. We handle the permit process where required and request utility locates through Texas 811.
Install
We trench, install the backflow preventer, main line, valves, lateral lines, swing joints, heads and drip, and run and connect the valve wiring.
Flush, Adjust & Restore
Lines are flushed before nozzles go on, heads are set and adjusted for coverage, and trenches are backfilled and restored.
Program & Hand Off
We program the controller for the season, walk you through the system and provide a simple map of zones and valve locations.
COMPONENTS WE DESIGN AROUND
Every system is built from the same core parts. How they're chosen and combined is what makes the difference.
Spray, Rotor & Rotary Heads
Spray heads for small areas, rotors for large lawns and rotary nozzles for slopes and clay soil, each on appropriate zones.
Drip Zones for Beds
Drip for shrubs, perennials, trees and gardens, keeping water off walls and walkways. See drip irrigation.
Controller Choice
A standard controller or a weather-aware smart controller with app control. See smart controllers.
Backflow Protection
A backflow preventer installed to local requirements and tested as required. See backflow testing.
Rain & Freeze Sensor
A sensor so the system skips watering in rain and cold. See rain & freeze sensors.
Quality Valves & Fittings
Reliable valves in accessible boxes, swing joints under heads and properly glued joints for fewer repairs down the road.
DESIGNING AROUND TREES, DRAINAGE AND HARDSCAPE
The best time to solve yard problems is before the pipe goes in. We route lines away from tree trunks where roots will grow, and where a line has to pass close to a tree we consider sleeving it or adding a root barrier. We keep heads back from driveway edges where they'd get crushed and plan sleeves under walks and drives so future work is easier.
We also look at how water moves across the property. Low spots, downspouts and areas that stay wet after rain affect where heads should go and how zones should be scheduled. If the yard needs drainage work, it's far easier to do it alongside a new installation than after.
Thinking ahead also saves money later. Adding a spare sleeve under a new driveway, leaving room on the controller for future zones or planning drip for beds you haven't planted yet costs little during installation and avoids tearing things up later.
What We Plan For Up Front
- Lines routed away from trees and root zones
- Sleeves under walks and driveways
- Heads set back from hardscape edges
- Separate zones for sun, shade, beds and trees
- Low spots and downspouts considered
- Cycle-and-soak scheduling for clay and slopes
RULES, PERMITS AND WATERING RESTRICTIONS
Texas has statewide rules for landscape irrigation design and installation, and many cities add their own permit, inspection and backflow requirements. Some also limit which days and times you can water. We design and install to meet the requirements where you live and set up the controller to follow local watering rules.
If you're in an HOA, check whether there are landscaping or irrigation guidelines before work begins. We're happy to work within them.
Once your system is in, a seasonal checkup, like spring startup and winter prep, helps keep it running smoothly.
After installation, we recommend a check-in once the lawn and plants settle, since new sod, new beds and maturing plants often need schedule adjustments during the first season.
We also think about maintenance when we install. Valve boxes go where you can reach them, wiring is labeled at the controller, and you get a simple zone map. Those small details make every future repair faster and less expensive.
SPRINKLER SYSTEM INSTALLATION ACROSS OUR TEXAS SERVICE AREAS
We provide new sprinkler system design and installation throughout our Texas service areas, including Dallas-Fort Worth and Houston Metro communities as well as the Austin and San Antonio areas.
