2024 Water Restrictions for Lake Dallas, TX

As we navigate through periods of drought and aim to conserve our precious water resources, it’s crucial for residents of Lake Dallas, TX to adhere to the following water restrictions in 2024. These measures are designed to ensure that everyone has sufficient water while promoting responsible usage.

Outdoor Watering

  • Sprinkler Systems: Use of automatic irrigation systems is permitted twice a week. Watering days are determined based on your home address:
  • Odd-numbered addresses: Wednesdays and Saturdays
  • Even-numbered addresses: Thursdays and Sundays
  • Hand Watering: Allowed any day, but only before 10:00 AM or after 6:00 PM.

Prohibited Activities

  • No Watering Between 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM: To minimize evaporation losses, avoid outdoor watering during these hours.
  • Excessive Water Runoff: Ensure that water does not flow onto sidewalks, streets, or driveways.
  • Overwatering: Avoid watering landscape areas to the point where water runs off into gutters.

New Landscaping

  • Waiver for New Sod or Landscaping: Residents establishing new sod or landscaping can apply for a temporary waiver allowing more frequent watering for up to 30 days. Contact the Lake Dallas Water Utilities Department for more information.
