To ensure a sustainable water supply throughout the year, the City of Westworth Village, TX, has implemented water restrictions for 2024. These measures are designed to conserve water, especially during peak usage times, and to maintain the integrity of our water resources.
Watering Schedule
Residential Properties
- Odd-Numbered Addresses: Water only on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
- Even-Numbered Addresses: Water only on Wednesdays and Sundays.
- No Watering between 10 AM and 6 PM on any day.
Commercial Properties
- Designated Watering Days: Water only on Mondays and Thursdays.
- No Watering between 10 AM and 6 PM on any day.
Exceptions
- Hand watering with a hose, drip irrigation, or using soaker hoses is allowed at any time.
- Newly installed landscapes can be watered for up to 30 days from the date of installation to allow for establishment.
Additional Restrictions
- No watering during periods of rainfall or when rain is expected.
- No excessive runoff or watering that causes water to flow onto sidewalks, streets, or other non-landscaped areas.
- Swimming Pools: Pools should be covered when not in use to prevent evaporation. Filling or refilling of pools should follow the designated watering days based on property address.
Enforcement and Penalties
Compliance with these restrictions is mandatory. The City will monitor water usage and enforce regulations. Penalties for violations include:
- First Violation: Warning and educational materials provided.
- Second Violation: $50 fine.
- Third Violation: $100 fine and possible installation of a flow restrictor device.
- Continued Non-Compliance: Further fines and potential disruption of water service.
