2024 Water Restrictions for Fate, TX

As part of our ongoing efforts to ensure sustainable water usage and protect our local resources, the City of Fate is implementing new water restrictions for 2024. These measures are essential to manage our water supply efficiently and to support conservation efforts that benefit the entire community.

Overview of Water Restrictions

Outdoor Watering

  • Even-Numbered Addresses: Outdoor watering is permitted on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
  • Odd-Numbered Addresses: Outdoor watering is permitted on Thursdays and Sundays.
  • Time Restrictions: Watering is allowed only before 10 AM and after 6 PM to minimize evaporation.

Prohibited Activities

  • No Watering on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays: These days are designated as no-watering days to reduce overall consumption.
  • No Watering During Rainfall: Watering is strictly prohibited during and 24 hours following measurable rainfall.
  • No Watering Hardscapes: Avoid watering driveways, sidewalks, streets, and other hard surfaces.

Exceptions

  • New Landscaping: Newly installed landscapes can be watered more frequently for a period of 30 days after installation. Please notify the City of Fate for approval.
  • Hand Watering: Hand watering with a hose equipped with a shutoff nozzle, drip irrigation, and soaker hoses are allowed any day, but must adhere to the time restrictions.

Enforcement and Penalties

Compliance with these restrictions is mandatory. Non-compliance can result in fines as follows:

  • First Violation: Warning notice.
  • Second Violation: $50 fine.
  • Third and Subsequent Violations: $100 fine per occurrence.
