Due to ongoing drought conditions and the need to conserve our water resources, Huffman, TX is implementing water restrictions effective immediately. Below you’ll find all the information you need to comply with these new regulations and ensure we maintain our community’s water supply.
What You Need to Know
Watering Schedule
- Odd-Numbered Addresses: Water on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
- Even-Numbered Addresses: Water on Wednesdays and Sundays.
- No Watering on Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
Allowed Watering Hours
- Watering is only permitted between 6 AM – 10 AM and 8 PM – Midnight.
- Avoid watering during peak sun hours to reduce evaporation and maximize water use efficiency.
Prohibited Activities
- No watering of landscapes using automatic systems on prohibited days.
- No washing of vehicles at home. Please use commercial car washes that recycle water.
- No filling or refilling of swimming pools.
- No hosing down driveways, sidewalks, or streets.
Exceptions and Special Permits
- Newly installed landscapes (within 30 days) may receive a special permit for additional watering.
- Hand-watering of plants and gardens is allowed on any day, but must be done using a hand-held hose or container.
- Businesses with critical water needs should contact the local water authority for potential exceptions.
Penalties for Non-Compliance
- First Violation: Written warning.
- Second Violation: $50 fine.
- Subsequent Violations: $200 fine per incident.
