These measures are designed to manage water resources responsibly and efficiently. Below are the specific guidelines and restrictions that residents and businesses in Aubrey, TX must follow:

Watering Schedule

• Residential Properties:

• Even-numbered addresses: Watering is allowed on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

• Odd-numbered addresses: Watering is allowed on Thursdays and Sundays.

• Commercial Properties:

• Watering is permitted on Tuesdays and Fridays.

• Prohibited Watering: No watering is allowed on Mondays to give the water system a break and to recover.

Time Restrictions

• Watering is only allowed between 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM and 6:00 PM – 10:00 PM. This helps minimize water loss due to evaporation during the hottest parts of the day.

Hand-Watering and Drip Irrigation

• Hand-watering with a hose equipped with a shut-off nozzle and drip irrigation systems are allowed at any time on permitted watering days.

Prohibited Uses

• Washing Hard Surfaces: Washing down sidewalks, driveways, parking lots, or other hard surfaces is prohibited unless required for health and safety reasons.

• Fountains and Water Features: Operation of ornamental fountains and water features is prohibited unless the water is recirculated.

• Vehicle Washing: Washing vehicles at home is prohibited unless using a hand-held bucket or a hose equipped with a shut-off nozzle. Commercial car washes and auto dealerships may operate as usual.

Exceptions

• New Landscaping: Newly installed landscapes are exempt from watering restrictions for the first 30 days after installation. After this period, the regular schedule must be followed.

• Public Health and Safety: Activities necessary for public health and safety, such as fire suppression and dust control, are exempt from these restrictions.

Enforcement and Penalties

• First Violation: A written warning will be issued.

• Second Violation: A fine of up to $50.

• Subsequent Violations: Fines will increase incrementally with each subsequent violation.
