    • Residents with odd-numbered addresses may water on Tuesdays and Saturdays.
    • Residents with even-numbered addresses may water on Wednesdays and Sundays.
  • Hours:
    • Watering is only permitted before 10 AM and after 6 PM to reduce evaporation losses.

Prohibited Activities

  • No Watering on Mondays:
    • This day is designated for system recovery and maintenance.
  • No Watering During Rainfall:
    • Automatic sprinkler systems must be outfitted with rain sensors.
  • No Excessive Runoff:
    • Watering practices should not create runoff onto sidewalks, streets, or adjacent properties.

Car Washing

  • Limited Car Washing:
    • Car washing is only allowed using a handheld bucket or a hose equipped with an automatic shut-off nozzle.
  • Commercial Car Washes:
    • Must use water recycling systems.

Pools and Fountains

  • Pool Filling:
    • Pools can only be filled or refilled between 6 PM and 10 AM.
  • Fountains:
    • Ornamental fountains and waterfalls must use recirculated water.

Enforcement

To ensure compliance, the city will implement the following measures:

  • Penalties:
    • First offense will result in a warning.
    • Subsequent offenses may incur fines starting at $50, escalating with each violation.
  • Reporting:
    • Residents can report violations through the city’s website or hotline.

Tips for Saving Water

Here are a few simple ways you can save water around your home:

  • Fix Leaks:
    • A dripping faucet can waste gallons of water a day.
  • Install Water-Efficient Fixtures:
    • Use low-flow showerheads and toilets.
  • Mulch Your Garden:
    • Mulch helps retain soil moisture and reduces the need for watering.

By following these restrictions and adopting water-saving practices, we can all play a part in preserving our water resources. Thank you for your cooperation and commitment to making Lucas, TX a sustainable community.
